Pacquiao is WBO Fighter of the Decade

The Puerto Rico-based governing body of the World Boxing Organisation has named Manny Pacquiao the Fighter of the Decade. The Filipino fighter is the ex-welterweight champion having beaten Miguel Cotto in 2009. After this, he was able to hold onto his title twice, fighting the U.S.’s Shane Mosley and Mexico’s Juan Manuel Marquez. However, he then lost it to Tim Bradley due to a split decision that proved to be very controversial.

These two fighters will meet again this December, when they fight each other at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on the 8th. This is a highly anticipated fight, with fans of both men having to occupy their time leading up to it with other things like playing on partycasino.com or watching television, until fight day finally arrives. While there will not be a title at stake, the winner would become a significant contender in the big-money fights that are coming up next year.

Throughout his whole career, he has won eight world titles, in the same amount of weight classes. This has been happening since 1998 so he is definitely deserving of such recognition. Pacquiao made his US début in 2001 and has had some very impressive victories. He has beaten big names from super-bantam and super-welter, including Marco Antonio Barrera, Ricky Hatton, Erik Morales, Oscar De La Hoya, Antonio Margarito, Joshua Clottey, Marquez and Mosley.

At the moment, the Philippines can boast of having four world champions. Donaire, Brian Viloria and Donnie Nietes all hold WBO titlebelts and Johnreil Casimero is a the top of the International Boxing Federation. The 33-year-old Pacquiao will no doubt be very happy to receive the honour of being named the WBO’s Fighter of the Decade and hopefully he will continue to see success in the sport.

PAL, AirPhil Express new terminal assignments!

Heads up! Travelling folks and friends, check this out. If you are booking your flights via PAL or Airphil Express, you better check your tickets first.

Recently the country’s Flag Carrier PAL announced new terminal assignments.

So here are the terminal assignments specially for your local domestic flights.

The following flights should take the NAIA Terminal 2, this is the terminal near Nayong Pilipino.

  • Bacolod, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Laoag and Tagbilaran, as well as select Kalibo flights

The next list of flights should go to NAIA Terminal 2, this is the one across Resorts World Manila.

  • Butuan, Busuanga, Cagayan de Oro, Calbayog, Catarman, Caticlan, Cotabato, Dipolog, Dumaguete, Legazpi, Masabate, Naga, Ozamiz, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, Surigao, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga, as well as select Kalibo flights.

I had a trouble of going to a wrong terminal when I just assumed one time. I was lucky I went 2 hours early since my trip is only a local trip, I had enough time to catch a cab and transfer to the right terminal.

So, please make sure to check your tickets the night before your flight. Always double check. This move of PAL and AirPhil Express can be confusing.

Also, take note that AirPHil express does not use the tube. :) So be prepared to take a little walk from the Terminal to the plane. For the young ones, its alright, but for the older ones this will be a little challenge.

Gerald Anderson: Cover Boy of M Magazine

M Magazine, Mindanao’s only glossy monthly magazine which has been around for almost five years is featuring for its latest issue, another famous Mindanaon who is from General Santos City on the cover!

This time, it’s no other than Kapamilya young dramatic actor, Gerald Anderson!

The cover featuring the hearthrob carries the blurb, Gerald Anderson, Boy from Dadiangas.

Gerald actually hails from Dona Soledad Subdivision in Barangay Labangal where he still maintains a house which he had renovated for his mother, Vangie.  In fact, he was just there two weeks ago where his younger brother, Kenneth  celebrated his birthday.

This is not the first time that M Magazine has placed a General on the cover.  In 2011, it was Miss Universe 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup of Barangay Katangawan.

In Fairness, Tiger-Seair Flight Was Good!

200 (Photo credit: Wikipedia) Two weeks ago, I had a chance to fly to Manila and back. My flight is with Tiger Airways (or SEAir). But before my flight I had some biases against SEAir/Tiger. I used to think that the service would be worst because it's one the small airline companies that operate locally. Well, I was surprised to realize that my flight is good. Big Plane (Cebu - Manila) - Seair Airbus A320 Like I said earlier, I had some...
